Your Work Has Meaning to God

When I was a young boy, I used to believe that the higher position or title you had in life, the more important you were. This is, of course, untrue. As an adult, I have come to realize that it is not the title or position one has that makes one significant, but rather how one uses his or her influence to help others. I have discovered that the people who hold the lowliest positions have tended to make the greatest contributions to humanity. Our greatest leaders such as Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Mother Theresa, and Mahatma Gandhi did not have grand worldly positions. They were well-educated, but they did not necessary have the positional titles that matched their academic credentials. Instead, these men and women possessed the courage and willingness to step out of themselves to help resolve a greater societal issue. They were not highly paid corporate leaders or esteemed politicians. Instead, these men and women chose a path of service that eventually led them to their true purpose.

Although most people are unaware of their significance to the whole, their separation from God stagnates, stifles, and quickly hinders the consistent growth and full development of life. For example, human-made destructive actions have brought about negative environmental consequences that have been long denied, but highly apparent through hurricanes, tornadoes, and earthquakes occurring during the last few months. These damaging weather occurrences may have been avoided if humans had not interfered with our environment.

In simple terms, let me demonstrate another example. On a daily basis, sanitation workers pick-up trash throughout the country. If these workers decided to go on strike for several weeks, our communities would be unsuitable for habitation due to the large amount of compounded trash. These two examples only serve as a reminder that we are all in need of other another and that no one occupation is more significant than the other. As we can see, everyone has value and relevance!

The God Force in totality encompasses every human and nonhuman entity. Every element of what we call God serves a divine purpose. If any entity was unimportant, it would not exist. Therefore, when we are connected to God, we instinctively serve a higher calling. The work that you do truly does matter to God. We are all extensions of His presence and power. He needs us to carry out His purpose. Our existence has meaning. To discredit this fact is to not acknowledge our very own existence.
